About Bite & Beans Cafe

Nestled in the Kingston neighborhood, this cafe offers a relaxed spot where locals come for straightforward, satisfying meals and well-crafted coffee. The menu leans into familiar breakfast and lunch items, with a focus on hearty portions and honest flavors rather than anything overly fancy. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, grounded in a friendly, no-frills approach. Regulars often appreciate the generous servings and straightforward menu that includes everything from light salads to small plates, as well as a breakfast selection that hits the comfortable, filling mark without being complicated. Tasty, affordable food and amazing portion sizes. Service is incredibly friendly and the food is just tasty and honest. Not as fancy as other places in the area but the food looks amazing, is quick to eat and is locally owned and run. A hidden gem that needs to be appreciated more. Offers salads, steaks and many breakfast, cafe and lunch items

This place is fantastic, so underrated and I wish more people went. The bacon and egg plus coffee combo for $13 basically makes it the best in Canberra. Add a hash brown for $2 and you’re away.

If you’re looking for a classic breakfast, look no further! The food is exactly as described and nothing too over-the-top or fancy. Just really tasty and filling breaky food. You won’t leave hungry! And great variety without too many options to choose from. Everything is easily customisable as well.

I'm a serious foodie. I was a chef/cook for over 10 years in my 25 year hospitality career. Bites & Beans very special Breaky Wrap is absolutely the best! It doesn't fall apart in your hands while you're trying to eat it and it comes in a very handy, thermal, souvlaki bag. The owners are always happy to allow me to amend my Breaky Wrap order. For health reasons, I order spinach in lieu of the hash brown. No problem. I also suggest you ask for salt and pepper to be added as it's so much better with extra seasoning. I hope you try this great menu item. I've been ordering it at least four times a week, as I work from home and too busy sometimes to make my own breakfast. This is a treat every time. I finish it all and feel totally satisfied in so many ways. Go on, give it a try! You'll love it. :)

Cute and delicious brunch spot! Staff always serve with such a smile and you can see the love in the food. The Avo is only $18 and you get far more than you pay for. Beautifully served and with an interesting twist adding the pickled cranberry and cucumbers. Definitely recommend!

Great family run cafe! We have been coming for over a year, and we have consistently been served delicious breakfasts, great juices and good coffee. The servings are generous and prices reasonable (especially compared to other local offerings). The cafe is family friendly with high chairs and babycinos (with marshmallows). The haloumi stack is my favourite meal, which I look forward to every week. Highly recommend!

Best smashed avo in Canberra! If you love chilli eggs, this one is for you
